New Delhi: In today's world, is a person's worth determined by his earnings? A viral video on social media brings out this bitter reality. Dayal, a young creative director, took to Instagram to share his story of how behavior at home changed after he left his job. In the video, Dayal says that he had left the job three days ago and has been at home since then. When he returned home during his job, his mother would lovingly ask, “Would you like one more roti or two?” At that time he felt that he was important for the family because he was earning money and also getting respect.

Did the behavior of the family change after leaving the job?

Dayal says that a few days ago, while eating, he asked for two more rotis. On this the father said to the mother, “Give me two chapattis; he is asking for it.” His tone hurt Dayal deeply, as he had never experienced this change before.

Is the message of the video that respect is often linked to earnings?

Dayal wrote in the post, “Even the parents do not like the poor son.” He said that as long as the pockets are full, people give respect. As soon as the income stops, the views at home also change, and the importance of a person is underestimated.

Are people sharing their stories on this video?

The video was shared on November 26 and has received more than three million views so far. Many people are also sharing their life experiences by commenting, many of whom wrote that after losing their jobs, they also felt a change in the behavior of the family and society.

Are some people also talking about the importance of family support through this video?

While sharing this video, Karan Bahl, founder of Fingrowth Media, also wrote that family support is very important in the decision of starting a business or changing careers. He said that it was his father who inspired him to leave his job and take the risk. His father had said, "Son, I was forced to work all my life. You take the risk; I am not." He said that if his father had not given him courage, he would probably have been stuck in a job in which he was not interested and would probably have had to bear the burden of EMIs and loans for the rest of his life.
